She nibbled the green leaves, / One by one,
And left bare branches / To greet the sun
The Autumn Cat
By Marcus B. Christian
The bare tree branches
Are fishbones that
Were left in the wake
Of the Autumn Cat.
She nibbled the green leaves,
One by one,
And left bare branches
To greet the sun.
The hound-dog, Winter,
Will gnaw each bone,
Then sit on his haunches
And moan and moan.
