Nature’s Orchestra

By Dorothy Riggs McCall

It’s Saturday and it’s storming

But this is such a lovely day

As nature tunes up her orchestra

And each instrument starts to play

The sounds are quite melodic

Sweet music to my ears

When the song is over

I’m sure there will be lots of cheers

From all the little girls and boys

Who don’t appreciate nature’s song

Impatiently tapping their fingers

and hoping it won’t last long

The thunderous cymbals keep clapping

Every now and then

The raindrops keep drumming

Upon the roof of tin

The whistling wind keeps blowing

A high and forceful note

While the beat is going on

The clouds dance a steady float

When nature’s orchestra has played

Throughout her songs’ duration

I clap my hands and offer he

A standing ovation
