Let me first take this opportunity to thank
those of you that are currently financial members of the NAACP
Baltimore City Branch. In
the event you are a member and your membership has expired –
please renew it immediately.
Of course, if you are not a member know that the NAACP
Baltimore City Branch is ‘Coming Alive in 2005.’
We need, want, and request your membership.
The cost for a regular adult membership is
ONLY $30.00 which includes the monthly Crisis magazine.

Our great city is faced with a plethora of
problems and challenges. As
President of the 2nd oldest and one of the most
prestigious branches in the country, I, along with our
outstanding Executive Committee, am committed to ensuring a
society in which all individuals have equal rights and there is
no racial hatred or racial discrimination.
Our mission is to ensure the political, educational,
social and economic equality of rights of all persons and to
eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.
The essential means by which we effectuate
our objectives is through our Standing and Special Committees.
Some of these committees are:
‘Communications, Press and Publicity; Community
Coordination; Education; Finance; Freedom Fund; Health, Legal
Redress; Membership and Life Membership; Political Action;
Religious Affairs; Youth Work; Armed Services and Veterans
Affairs, Economic Development; and Labor and Industry.
Our objectives are to ensure the political,
educational, social and economic equality of all citizens; to
achieve quality of rights and eliminate race prejudice among the
citizens of the United States; to remove all barriers of racial
discrimination through democratic processes; to seek enactment
and enforcement of federal, state and local laws security civil
rights; to inform the public of the adverse effects of racial
discrimination and to seek its elimination; to educate persons
as to their constitutional rights and to take all lawful action
to secure the exercise thereof, and to take any other lawful
action in furtherance of these objectives, consistent with the
NAACP’s Articles of Incorporation and our Constitution.
Our Monthly General Membership Meetings are
the 4th Monday of every month, with the exception of
December 2005 where we will meet on the 3rd Monday
due to Christmas and Kwanzaa.
Our meetings are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at 940 Madison
Avenue at Preston Street. There
is ample lighted parking and our meetings are OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC.
It’s been said “…if you don’t ask you
won’t receive.” Won’t
you please become both a physically and financially active
member of the Baltimore City Branch NAACP?
I have pledged to do everything within the powers and
intellect that God will give me to significantly improve our
branch. I need and
