  Food For Thought

By Junious Ricardo Stanton

Three weeks ago, on my syndicated radio show, I said that there was a very good chance that the globalists would do something horrible concerning the latest Colombia mission. Understand, the psychological warfare technicians do not even need to publicly blame Iraq for the Columbia disaster. It will serve as a distraction in the global press during the final weeks of war preparation in the gulf. It will serve the dual purpose of unifying the country behind President Bush as he grandstands, talking about how horrible the death of the astronauts has been. I pointed out many times on the air that they are using primitive psychological mechanisms built into our most primitive programming to unify and control us. Child kidnappings are actually down by two thirds since the late 1980's and early 1990, but the unified bureaus of propaganda (ABC, CNN, FOX etc.) have been playing it up as an incredible epidemic. We have seen an emerging pattern over the last few decades of playing up child kidnapping right before a war.

If you are asking what this has to do with Columbia blowing up on  reentry, let me explain it in simpler terms. What happens if you hit a beehive with a baseball bat? The bees will come out and attack anything in the vicinity. To give you a human example, in primitive societies when a large predator takes a member of the tribe,  especially a young member, the tribe will go into a vicious seek-and-destroy hunting frenzy that we call "war" today. This is why they play up child kidnapping before a war."- Alex Jones- Free thinking Syndicated radio talk show host

I believe the recent space Shuttle Colombia explosion will be used by the Bush cabal and the compliant corporate mass media  as a means to employ additional psychological warfare on the AmeriKKKan public to rally the masses to support Bush's fascist imperialist agenda. Bush's State of the Union Address didn't go over too well. His popularity even with the unqualified support and backing of the corporate controlled media/PR/propaganda apparatus is slumping fast due to the shaky economy, massive lay offs and huge deficits in most state and the federal budget as well.

He still hasn't persuaded Bubba and Louise our young men and women should shed their blood for oil and the AmeriKKKan Empire overseas. The shuttle disaster, while probably not deliberately sabotaged or the target of foreign terrorism, will be used to rally the masses during a very public grief and mourning period. Bush and Co. will milk this to the max to get sympathy and support for their idea of AmeriKKKan global hegemony, which is at odds with most of the people in this country.

I find it interesting that NASA and the government immediately sprung into action to examine the shuttle debris and locate the remains of the astronauts to determine  what went wrong. They wasted no time collecting and storing the wreckage assembling recovery and evaluation teams to discover what went wrong. In this particular tragedy seven astronauts perished, six American, one Israeli. On  9-11 over three thousand people lost their lives in the World Trade Center, Pentagon, United and American Airline crashes.

Yet it has taken the Bush Administration over a year and a half to mobilize an investigation into 9-11 and he was pressured to do that by the survivors. Plus the 9-11 investigation is not being adequately funded or staffed to get at the real facts behind 9-11. Kinda makes you wonder what's the deal here?  What is it Bush, Cheney et al don't want the AmeriKKKan people to know about 9-11?

While I'm not suggesting rogues within the government or foreign terrorists had anything to do with the shuttle catastrophe, I can't help but ponder on the revelations uncovered about "Operation Northwoods," where members of the US Joint Chiefs (the heads of all the branches of the U.S. military) actually contemplated, plotted and planned attacks on American cities, the space program, U.S. commercial air carriers  and actually  thought about using decoy and dummy airplanes to make the masses think Cuba had attacked the U.S. in order to manipulate public sentiment against Fidel Castro so the U.S. could invade the island and remove him from office.

To his credit President John F. Kennedy rejected the plan. While Kennedy was no angel he wasn't a world class warmonger like Bush.  Bush is planning to pre-emptively go into Iraq and remove the ruler of that sovereign nation for no apparent reason. Where did Georgie Boy get an idea like that? From his father you say?  George H.W. Bush, Bush's father, actually sent U.S. forces to invade Panama and capture Manuel Noriega the leader of that country who was an ally of Daddy Bush from his days as Director of the C.I.A? (How is it allies/stooges of the Bush's like bin-Laden, Noriega and Hussein end up in situations like this?)  They just went into Panama unprovoked and kidnapped their leader?!!

The U.S. actually went onto foreign soil unprovoked, invaded Panama City causing major collateral damage kidnapping Noriega and bringing him back to the U.S. and the AmeriKKKan public let that go down without a whimper. Not only that, they brought Noriega to the U.S. subjected him to U.S., a Kangaroo Court in Florida and then locked him underneath the jail? Where is he now? He's still languishing in a secure U.S. prison to this day?  If they could get away with what they did in Panama, for no apparent reason, think what Bush and Co. will do in Iraq (or Columbia South America) for all that oil (and drugs) to establish a toehold in the region for further their imperialist agenda?

Grieve for the astronauts but don't get caught up in the PR, “We Are United, Nuke Iraq” hype or allow Bush to piggyback on this tragedy to regroup or strengthen his plans and position for war. Food for thought.

Greenback Planet: How the Dollar Conquered

the World and Threatened Civilization as We Know It

By H. W. Brands

In Greenback Planet, acclaimed historian H. W. Brands charts the dollar's astonishing rise to become the world's principal currency. Telling the story with the verve of a novelist, he recounts key episodes in U.S. monetary history, from the Civil War debate over fiat money (greenbacks) to the recent worldwide financial crisis. Brands explores the dollar's changing relations to gold and silver and to other currencies and cogently explains how America's economic might made the dollar the fundamental standard of value in world finance. He vividly describes the 1869 Black Friday attempt to corner the gold market, banker J. P. Morgan's bailout of the U.S. treasury, the creation of the Federal Reserve, and President Franklin Roosevelt's handling of the bank panic of 1933. Brands shows how lessons learned (and not learned) in the Great Depression have influenced subsequent U.S. monetary policy, and how the dollar's dominance helped transform economies in countries ranging from Germany and Japan after World War II to Russia and China today. He concludes with a sobering dissection of the 2008 world financial debacle, which exposed the power--and the enormous risks--of the dollar's worldwide reign.  The Economy

Sex at the Margins

Migration, Labour Markets and the Rescue Industry

By Laura María Agustín

This book explodes several myths: that selling sex is completely different from any other kind of work, that migrants who sell sex are passive victims and that the multitude of people out to save them are without self-interest. Laura Agustín makes a passionate case against these stereotypes, arguing that the label 'trafficked' does not accurately describe migrants' lives and that the 'rescue industry' serves to disempower them. Based on extensive research amongst both migrants who sell sex and social helpers, Sex at the Margins provides a radically different analysis. Frequently, says Agustin, migrants make rational choices to travel and work in the sex industry, and although they are treated like a marginalised group they form part of the dynamic global economy. Both powerful and controversial, this book is essential reading for all those who want to understand the increasingly important relationship between sex markets, migration and the desire for social justice. "Sex at the Margins rips apart distinctions between migrants, service work and sexual labour and reveals the utter complexity of the contemporary sex industry. This book is set to be a trailblazer in the study of sexuality."—Lisa Adkins, University of London
