By Marcus B. Christian

Keep your distance, lil white gal,

Doncha laugh and grin wid me;

Cuz Ah don want trouble wid yo woodpeakah daddy,--

Jessa watchin fuh what he can see.

Keep yo distance, lil white gal,

Cuz dis is d full o d moon;

And mah jet-black colah izza dahk disease,

So feed me widdah long-handled spoon.

Keep yo distance, lil white gal,

Ah laks you Gawd knows dats true;

But folks mah colah want eveh meant

Fuh people ez white as you.
