Christian Messages from South India
Message 5
Dear Brother Rudy
Greetings and
blessings in the most high and Lifted name of our Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ, Brother, I shall be very thankful to you
for being furnished your intact mailing address to us. You
had directed us to send pictures to you, but due to the
prevalence of unprecedented Cyclonic Storm on 15-12-2003, this
Cyclone had affected with heavy to heavy gals 200Kms. per hour.
So many poor
Christian people have been suffered a lot, their houses totally
collapsed and also they have lost many more domestic utensils.
In such a hard and horrific circumstances, being responsible
Christian Missionary, on Humanitarian grounds, we had
immediately swung in to action and to a maximum extent we have
rendered the services, we have provided them Blankets, Food, and
Temporary shelter.
At present, they are
gradually getting relief and they are slowly constructing their
houses. In this regard, we have covered 12 poor villages.
Hence brother, as we were being deeply preoccupied and
associated with the activities of relief and rehabilitation
measures, for the poor Christian people, who had badly suffered
with this disastrous Cyclonic storm. This is why we could
not send the pictures in a right time. Please kindly
pardon me and I am extremely very sorry for this. Any way
we are making all possible efforts and we will send the pictures
to you with in a week. We are constantly praying for you
and for your Ministry in our day to day regular prayers.
Pertaining to the pictures don’t feel and think otherwise and
we do believe and hoping that you may understand our
position with peaceful outlook.
Convey my good
regard and best wishes to your family members, your Ministry
members, your respective board Members and other fellow Ministry
team. We shall await for your further valuable and fruitful
response at an earliest in this regard with hopefully and
prayerfully.
Thanking you
Brother,
Yours Brother in
Christ,

The New Jim Crow
Mass Incarceration in the Age of
Colorblindness
By Michele Alexander
Contrary to the
rosy picture of race embodied in Barack
Obama's political success and Oprah
Winfrey's financial success, legal
scholar Alexander argues vigorously and
persuasively that [w]e have not ended
racial caste in America; we have merely
redesigned it. Jim Crow and legal racial
segregation has been replaced by mass
incarceration as a system of social
control (More African Americans are
under correctional control today... than
were enslaved in 1850). Alexander
reviews American racial history from the
colonies to the Clinton administration,
delineating its transformation into the
war on drugs. She offers an acute
analysis of the effect of this mass
incarceration upon former inmates who
will be discriminated against, legally,
for the rest of their lives, denied
employment, housing, education, and
public benefits. Most provocatively, she
reveals how both the move toward
colorblindness and affirmative action
may blur our vision of injustice: most
Americans know and don't know the truth
about mass incarceration—but her
carefully researched, deeply engaging,
and thoroughly readable book should
change that.—Publishers
