the hell bells of holocaust ring

for the bringer of death

for the antichrist king.

Let the heads be bowed

let the multitudes confess

let the rat race be stilled

in the midst of unrest

see the hip cats

and square cats

do their thing

the masses

they boogie

with the antichrist king.

He's the destroyer of our youth

the lord of diverse addiction

the beast of many faces

Beware the devils potions

and the devil's songs they sing

in the days of Armageddon

Timothy Melton wrote most of the poems in For Black Men Who Have Considered Living while incarcerated. They are "passionate and full of power." According to Richard Rowe, who wrote the foreword to this volume: "To write such a book of poems took tremendous discipline and courage.
